Some trails just really have it all! If you find yourself around Brevard, NC this is well worth a visit. The trailhead is a lovely drive from the entrance of Pisgah National Forest (maybe 20 minutes)
It’s a moderate hike and steady incline, climbing 1,600 ft. At just under six miles round trip, it’s the perfect afternoon hike. If you can visit during the week, do it! This one gets crowded on the weekends and the parking lot is often a nightmare.
The granite outcrop can be viewed from the other side of the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 417. It took millions of years of erosion to create this beauty! Take a look at this virtual “view” from the Parkway I found: https://www.virtualblueridge.com/parkway-place/view-looking-glass-rock/
Beautiful!!
